Keep Hydrated

Water really is a big deal, as a general rule in the 24 hours after your massage you should increase your water intake by about half a litre on top of what you would usually drink.

During your massage, we are squeezing your muscles which forces stagnant blood (and any toxins hiding there) out of them and encourages a fresh supply of blood into them. This means your system has an increase of toxins circulating, so help your body out with extra water to flush these toxins out.
If you start experiencing a light headache and/or a groggy ‘hung over’ feeling in the 24 hours after your massage, this is your body telling you that you require more water.

Eat Well

After a massage your body and mind become more connected, which also means your brain is more aware of what needs healing and where to send nutrients to achieve this.
Eat well balanced, nutritious foods after your massage and if you have a magnesium supplement, take it. This will further assist the relaxation of muscle fibres, and is the number one thing to help rapidly assist in muscle repair.
If you experience cramps, twitches or a mild headache after your session, your body is likely lacking in magnesium - a mineral necessary for your body to repair and relax what it needs to.
If you are looking for a delicious magnesium supplement that is food based, not synthetic, easily absorbed and is in a dehydrated coconut water base that is rich with electrolytes to assist hydration then look no further. We stock one at Sowelu Wellness that comes in 2 different flavours to make drinking it a joy instead of a chore.

Do Your Stretches and Exercises

After your session, if I recommend stretches or exercises, it is important to do them regularly. These are for your benefit so that we aren’t having to go over the same things in your sessions and really push things forward to get you to a state of balance faster.
This also goes for using your spiky ball. If you can relieve some of the tension in your muscles at home, it will mean that you are not having so much of a build-up of stiffness, soreness, tightness and tension in your muscles, therefore when I see you next we can spend less time on symptoms and more time in treating the actual source.

Book Your Next Session

Do you want to feel fantastic in your body? Leaving it too long in between sessions will mean we need to keep treating symptoms, when we really want to get to the source of the issue and have you feeling amazing in your body quicker.
If you've not yet booked your next massage, you can book in online here.

Tell Your Friends

We love helping people and we know you are feeling better already. We would LOVE it if you could tell 2 of your friends, who suffer from headaches, muscle tension or back pain just how good you feel after a massage at Sowelu Wellness.
I am currently offering 10% off initial massage consultations for the friends and family members of my clients, all they have to do is mention your name when booking.
As thanks for recommending us, we will also give you 10% off your next appointment when you friend books and attends their first massage appointment.
