The Sowelu Sisterhood is about introducing you to some inspiring ladies in the health, fitness and wellness industry. These are the women that inspire and motivate us. These are the women that we refer our clients to and that we pay visit to ourselves, to ensure we are as healthy, fit, and well as we can be. It is our goal, through the clinic and through the Sowelu Sisterhood to support you in becoming so, well, you!
So let's meet Chloe!
Chloe's journey began with Beauty Therapy, from here she moved into Personal Training and with such a strong passion for health, fitness and wellness, Chloe went forward to study Yoga Teacher Training. As if all of that wasn't enough, this inspiring young lady has now added Reiki Practitioner to her list of talents and opened her very own business, Breathe Balance Heal Yoga. Chloe's goal through BBHY is to take yoga and meditation to her clients, whether that be in their home or workplace.
We wanted to delve more deeply into Chloe's health and wellness journey so we asked her a few questions...
1. What tips do you have for staying healthy on a budget?
Being organised and planning is key for staying healthy on a budget. Prepping your food for the week ahead, I find that helps immensely. Otherwise you can get off track. Also making the most of our amazing Farmer’s Markets we have here in South Australia, you can’t go wrong!
2. Do you routinely supplement? Why and what?
Every morning I take Apple Cider Vinegar, I find this helps with my immunity particularly through the colder winter months. It’s also great for the digestive system, cholesterol levels and your skin. Most nights I also take a Magnesium powder as I find it relieves tight muscles and helps them to relax, leading to a more sound sleep. Also listening to your body is a wonderful thing, being in tune with it. I don’t take it every night but if I haven’t taken if for a few nights I can immediately tell the difference within my body.
3. What is your favourite wellness tip?
Listen to your body, be in tune with it. Don’t ignore it.
If you’re tired, rest. If you’re anxious breathe.
It’s so very simple but it’s something we often and regularly ignore! Most people live a chaotic lifestyle with very little down time. It’s all about finding a balance that works for you and making it a regular part of your lifestyle.
4. Have you read any inspiring books on health and wellness lately?
There’s so much available at the moment, it’s wonderful! I’ve finally taken the time to read Melissa Ambrosini’s ‘Mastering your mean girl’ If you need a bit of positivity and a bit of a pick me up, this is great. I’m also reading The Happiness Trap by Dr Russ Harris. I’ve just started this one, but from what I’ve read so far I’m really enjoying it. You know how you have moments when you’re reading and you feel like this part is solely meant for me – it’s one of those books.
5. Who are your wellness hero’s?
There’s an inspiring Adelaide babe spreading her knowledge of health and wellness in the UK at the moment. Head on over and follow Wild Spirit Naturally, she’s an amazing wellbeing blogger, she’s all about wild foods, spiritual harmony and natural beauty.
Also my soul sister that I crossed paths with on my Yoga Teacher Training, she is just starting her new venture over in the New Orleans. She's also on Instagram, follow ‘awaken wellness studio’.
