Pregnancy is such a beautiful time, and Mumma you are glowing!

However, many stages during pregnancy can bring up all kinds of tension, not only in the physical body but in our mental and emotion space as well. Hey, it’s ok, everything is so new and your body has a lot to accommodate for not just right now but it’s preparing you for what’s to come!

Connecting with one of our prenatal massage therapists to nurture, and support you during pregnancy will do wonders for your health and wellbeing. Let us help bring your body and mind back into balance by reducing your stress levels, relieving muscle aches and tension and rejuvenating your energy during this precious time.
Some mothers like to use this time as a window of deep connection with their growing baby, a special time to focus on just the two of you.

Massage is not only safe but especially supportive for most pregnant women, however this does not go without some controversy especially in the first trimester. You may be experiencing lots of morning sickness and fatigue in your first trimester, and a massage might be the furthest thing from feeling comfortable and nurturing right now.
Lying on your tummy could even make you feel more nauseated. Consider whether your time and money might be better spent on a massage later on in your pregnancy when you are feeling better, will be able to enjoy the therapy and fully reap the benefits for both you and baby.

Of course, for your peace of mind and the safety of your baby, if you are interested in getting a massage in your first trimester, it’s a good idea to talk to your healthcare professional first. Before you book in for a massage, first ask whether a massage might pose any risks to your health and the progress of your pregnancy and don’t feel disheartened if now is not the best time, there are additional complementary therapies we can refer you to until massage is right for you.

When you are ready for a massage, rest assured that you are in safe hands at Sowelu Wellness. We look forward to nurturing you while you prepare to bring your special bubs into the world.
