The Experience of Massage Therapy
Here at Sowelu Wellness in Adelaide, we are always surprised by those who say they have never had a massage, or they don't enjoy massage. We know that booking in for a massage with a therapist you have never met can be a little daunting - particularly if you've had a bad experience in the past. So we wanted to share with you a little about what we think makes for a great massage experience as well as some of the benefits of massage therapy, because while a great massage feels lovely and indulgent, there are also some amazing health benefits.
At Sowelu Wellness, your massage experience starts the moment you meet your massage therapist. We believe that what makes a great massage isn’t always solely about the techniques and hand skills; although this does play an integral part, we feel that our interaction, our connection and trust that we build with you is just as important. This trust will help you to openly allow your body to be worked with and ensure that you feel safe, welcomed and nurtured in this environment.
We've gone out of our way to ensure the room is just the right temperature, the towels on the bed are clean, fluffy and warm and we've filled the air with beautiful essential oils. Before your appointment begins, our therapists will spend time with you, making sure they understand what it is that you want to get out of your treatment as well as what pressure you like.
We've also got the little things covered - didn't bring a hair tie? No worries, use one of ours.
You'll also notice that when you book for a one hour massage at Sowelu Wellness, we actually allow 75 minutes. Why? Because we want to make sure you receive a full hour of actual massage and have plenty of time to chat to the therapist, before and after your massage to ensure all of your requirements are met and you leave feeling refreshed and revitalised - not half asleep and rushed out the door.
